Data Conversion Tool

The Data Conversion Tool (DCT) provides a simple process for bulk loading data from an existing Excel spreadsheet into MDW. Users are required to register for the program and access is restricted to existing MDW users. Each Ontario municipality that has signed a Data Provision Agreement (DPA) is able to download the tool and obtain a single-use license key valid for 1 year. Additional license keys may be purchased for a price of $495.00 (plus applicable tax) per key.

Private sector companies and those Ontario Municipalities who have not signed a DPA, may purchase individual license keys at a cost of $495.00 (plus applicable tax) per key.

Each key may only be used once; if you require DCT on more than once computer, please purchase additional license keys.

Municipal DataWorks also provides Data Conversion Templates. The templates are provided for most asset types and can assist you in preparing your inventory for transfer to MDW. Templates are available in a spreadsheet format which may be modified as needed to suit your data. You may use the templates for data creation or if you have existing data, you can fit your data into the template format.

Once you have your data ready, you have several options for loading the information into MDW. You can load the data yourself, you can contact an MDW service provider who may load the data on your behalf or you can contact OGRA for a quotation for data loading at: info@municipaldataworks.ca
